I found out something today I didn't previously know.........

At the moment I have myself and hubby insured to drive my Motability car. I want to go away for a weekend with sister and share the driving. To insure a third driver would incur a cost of £73 per annum.

However, I asked whether it's possible to insure for a weekend or week and a lady phoned back this afternoon to say it can be done. All that I'd need to do is phone RSA Motability Insurers on 0500 37 37 37 and ask them to temporarily take my husband off the policy and add my sister instead. They don't even require notice, it can be done immediately, but of course their phone lines would have to be open and giving 2-3 days notice would be better. Then when I want to take sister off and add hubby back on, phoned them again. She confirmed there's no limit as to how many times this can be done per year either. Wish I'd known about this earlier.
